Valentine’s Day restaurant options around Connecticut

Treat your Valentine to a special meal this Feb. 14. The holiday falls on a Tuesday, but several Connecticut restaurants are extending their menu offerings for several days.

The Cottage in Westport will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 starting at 5 p.m., with a la carte specials available in addition to the regular menu. Reservations:  (203) 557-3701.

The Cottage's Greenwich location will feature an a la carte lunch menu from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the regular menu with celebratory specials for dinner. Reservations: (203) 769-1220.

L'Escale in Greenwich offers a special Valentine's menu Feb. 14 from 5 to 10 p.m., with entrees like lobster fra diavolo, local black sea bass, jumbo sea scallops, crispy duck breast duo, grilled lamb chops or filet mignon. Cost is $95 per person. Make reservations online or call (203) 661-4600.

Artisan Restaurant , with locations at the Delamar Hotels in Southport and West Hartford , both offer $85 prix-fixe meals with main courses like jumbo sea scallops and saffron risotto, goat gouda-crusted halibut, crispy skin duck breast duo, Maine lobster fra diavolo and Angus filet mignon. Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill in New Haven will be celebrating “Five Days of Valentine’s,” offering specials in addition to its regular a la carte menu from Feb. 10 to 14. Specials include Lonely Hearts Club cocktail, country fried chicken of the woods,  Wagyu sirloin, tagliatelle bolognese, red velvet lava cake, red miso carrot cake and more. Fair Haven Oyster Co. in New Haven welcomes guests for a Valentine's Day "winter chalet" experience, available both indoors and in its outdoor greenhouses. The menu features French onion oysters, potato rosti with caviar, warm raclette with pickled baby carrots and housemade sausage, pan-roasted Arctic char and warm crepes with génépi cream, cara cara oranges and chamomile. Union League Cafe in New Haven features a three-course prix-fixe menu, with entree choices of domestic veal loin with seared foie gras, mushroom and chestnut stuffed quail, pepper-crusted filet mignon, pan-seared Arctic char, butter poached lobster and raclette ravioli with shaved black truffle. Millwright's Restaurant in Simsbury will offer its Valentine's Day four-course prix-fixe menu Feb. 10 through Feb. 14, with entree choices of mushroom bourguignon, roasted half chicken, seared salmon or New York strip.
